  • ALLANTOIN

Allantoin improves the skin’s moisture binding capacity as it increases the water content of the dermis. Allantoin reinforces the skin’s natural protective barrier. This skin protectant moisturises, soothes, and smooths the skin.

  • ALOEBARBADENSIS LEAF JUICE

Aloe is one of the most widely used botanicals to soothe the skin. Aloe contains mucilage which is comprised of a synergistic blend of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and natural sugars (mannans/polysaccharides). The pH of aloe mucilage is almost identical to that of skin (4.5-6). Therapeutic benefits to the skin include a reduction in inflammation, enhanced penetration through skin by water hydration and a decrease in skin bacteria. Aloe increases the availability of oxygen to the skin and helps strengthen skin tissue. Aloe is often used to help moisturise dry skin, reduce facial edema (swelling/puffiness), soothe burns, and relieve itching from insect bites.

  • APPLE EXTRACT

A good source of Sodium Lactate and Sodium PCA, natural components of the skin’s own natural moisturising factor (NMF). Apple Extract also contains polysaccharides which moisturise the skin.

  • ASTRAGALUS MEMBRANACEUS ROOT EXTRACT

Used for years in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Reduces inflammation and is a potent antioxidant. Also enhances the overall well-being of the skin.

  • BAKUCHIOL

Bakuchiol is a component obtained from the seeds of the Psoralea corylifolia plant which is native to Asia. Is has been used in Chinese and Indian medicines for centuries. It is a broad-spectrum antioxidant that helps to neutralise a wide spectrum of free radicals. Bakuchiol also helps to stabilise Retinol in the presence of UV radiation. Bakuchiol helps improve the overall condition of the skin which helps Retinol function more effectively.

  • BIOSACCHARIDE GUM-1

Biosaccharide Gum-1 is a fucose-rich polysaccharide extracted from seaweed. It provides powerful immediate and long-term moisturisation to the skin. It has film forming properties like Sodium Hyaluronate that help with moisturisation. Clinical tests show that it provides better long term hydration than Sodium Hyaluronate, and good anti-aging benefits including fibroblast proliferation and MMP inhibition.

  • BISABOLOL

Bisabolol is a natural botanical extract derived from wood of the candeia tree. It is used for its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. Bisabolol is often used to help reduce erythema (redness).

  • CAMELLIA SINENSIS (WHITE TEA) LEAF POWDER

White Tea Extract is a natural botanical derived from the lightly-oxidised leaf of the Camellia sinensis plant. White Tea Extract contains
less caffeine than Green Tea Extract, but contains more polyphenol levels which provide anti-bacterial and superior antioxidant properties to the skin.

  • CERAMIDES

Ceramides used in skincare are very similar to the natural ceramides within the skin’s own lipid structure. They can strengthen and repair the skin’s barrier by enhancing water retention and reducing skin dryness as well as helping reduce TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Ceramides included in Revision Skincare® products include Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, and Ceramide NP.

  • GLYCERIN

Glycerin is a vegetable derived humectant that attracts water to the skin which in turn helps maintain the balance of skin. Glycerin softens and smooths the skin and helps reinforce the skin’s barrier reducing TEWL (transepidermal water loss).

  • GLYCOLIC ACID

Glycolic Acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid. It can effectively penetrate the deeper layers of the stratum corneum stimulating cellular activity and removing dead cells from the surface. The Glycolic Acid molecule is very small enabling it to penetrate the skin further than other alpha-hydroxy acid molecules. Glycolic Acid has been shown to:

    • Improve the elasticity & firmness of the skin
    • Increase collagen synthesis
    • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
    • Improve skin texture
    • Reduce the appearance of pigmentation
  • JOJOBA ESTERS

Jojoba Esters are derived from Jojoba Oil and serve as an emollient or as an exfoliant to the skin. Jojoba Esters mimic the natural oils produced by the skin.

  • KAOLIN

Kaolin is classified as a clay and a mineral. Kaolin helps draw out impurities and toxins from the skin making it highly beneficial for those with acneic or oily skin. Kaolin helps stimulate circulation in the skin by increasing cell turnover and by cleansing skin of excess oil, dirt and debris. Kaolin also helps reduce swelling and provides disinfectant properties to the skin.

  • LACTIC ACID

Lactic Acid is a moisturising, alpha-hydroxy acid. It is used to help exfoliate, hydrate and smooth dry, flaking skin. Lactic Acid is sometimes used in high concentrations as a chemical peel. It has a larger molecular size than glycolic acid and is absorbed more gradually across the epidermis with less irritation.

  • LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER ) FLOWER EXTRACT, LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA (LAVENDER) OIL

Lavender is an aromatic, therapeutic extract that offers soothing, anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial benefits to the skin. It is often used to relieve muscle aches and pains.

  • LENTIL EXTRACT

This legume extract contains Vitamin B5 and trisaccharides to condition the skin.

  • MELALEUCA ALTERNIFOLIA (TEA TREE) OIL

Melaleuca Alternifolia is the most superior grade of Tree Oil available as other forms of Tea Tree Oil can have a high percentage of cineole which can irritate the skin. This natural oil is rich in terpene alcohols that helps give this natural oil its antiseptic, analgesic and antibacterial properties.

  • PLANKTON EXTRACT

Plankton Extract is a marine-derived ingredient that has been clinically proven to repair existing intracellular damage and inhibit further intracellular damage from occurring.

  • RETINOL

Retinol is a very efficacious substance for the care of ageing and UV damaged skin. Retinol improves and balances the cell renewal process. Retinol helps the epidermis and dermis grow thicker, making it firmer and more elastic. Lines and wrinkles are reduced in number, length, area and width. Complexion looks fresher, clearer, and more hydrated with a healthier glow.
This form of pure Vitamin A is encapsulated in a micro sponge to allow for time released efficacy and less irritation. Initially, when the product is applied to the skin a small percentage of Retinol is released, but after 6 hours the same amount of Retinol has been delivered to the skin as compared to Retinol not encapsulated. This micro-particle delivery system reduces undesirable side effects of Retinol including redness, irritation, and dryness. This encapsulation also helps prolong the shelf life of Retinol due to its sensitivity to light, oxygen and heat.

  • ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS (ROSEMARY) LEAF EXTRACT

Rosemary is a woody, perennial herb with fragrant, evergreen, needle-like leaves. It is native to the Mediterranean region and is a member of the mint family of herbs. Rosemary Leaf Extract is high in antioxidants, and helps reinforce the skin’s barrier.

  • SALICYLIC ACID

Salicylic Acid is a beta-hydroxy acid derived from the Willow Bark Tree. It works as a keratolytic agent encouraging the sloughing of dead skin cells. Beta-Hydroxy Acids are larger molecules than Alpha-Hydroxy Acids keeping them on the surface of the skin allowing more effective penetration and exfoliation within the pores. Salicylic Acid helps unclog pores to help prevent future lesions. Salicylic Acid smooths, softens and helps clear the skin. Some of the Revision® Skincare formulas contain an encapsulated form of Salicylic Acid which offers a slow and extended release of the ingredient to enhance efficacy without the negative side effects of irritation.

  • SILICA (VOLCANIC SAND)

This gentle exfoliant minimises micro-cuts and scrapes while effectively removing dead cells and debris. High in minerals to help nourish the skin.

  • SODIUM HYALURONATE

Hyaluronic Acid naturally occurs in many different areas of the body. It is able to hold more water than any other natural substance - up to  1000 times its weight in water. Sodium Hyaluronate normalises the moisture balance of skin. Sodium Hyaluronate can reach deep down into the dermis to maintain and attract water, as well as to promote skin microcirculation and nutrient absorption. Its hydrating properties help the skin become smoother and softer with decreased wrinkles and an all-around fuller appearance. Sodium Hyaluronate decreases TEWL (transepidermal water loss).

  • TETRAHEXYLDECYL ASCORBATE (VITAMIN C)

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is a Vitamin C derivative that is a natural antioxidant used to help prevent and treat sun damaged skin. It is the most stable and bio-available form of Vitamin C used in skincare formulations. The benefits of using this form of Vitamin C in formulations include:

    • Inhibition of lipid degradation
    • Inhibiting the formation of hyperpigmentation, clarifying and brightening the skin
    • Stimulation of collagen production
  • TITANIUM DIOXIDE

Titanium Dioxide is a physical, inorganic oxide occurring in nature that is brilliant white in colour. Used as a white pigment, opacifier, absorbent and physical sunscreen. Titanium Dioxide, when used as a sunscreen, protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays as it absorbs the UV radiation and releases it as heat.

  • TOCOPHEROL (VITAMINE E)

Tocopherol is a strong antioxidant that helps protect the skin from free radical damage. This antioxidant protection is increased when combined in formulas with Vitamin C. Vitamin E is also an effective moisturiser and has been proven at specific levels to reduce TEWL (transepidermal water loss). This moisturising benefit creates skin softness and smoothness. This therapeutic vitamin is also used to for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Often used alone or in conjunction with other vitamins, specifically Vitamin A (Retinol), Vitamin E has been proven to help with scarring as it helps inhibit excess Collagen formation at the location of the scar or wound.

  • TOCOPHERYLACETATE (VITAMIN E)

A Vitamin E derivative that helps moisturise, soothe and act as an antioxidant protecting the skin from free radicals in the environment.

  • ZINC OXIDE

Zinc Oxide is a physical, inorganic mineral often used as a sunscreen to effectively block both UVA and UVB rays. Zinc Oxide also offers antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits to the skin. Zinc Oxide is also considered a drying agent and helps control excess oil and shine.
